Katrina Adams: ‘I’d come as a team… we just wanted to do our best.’

Former world number three and reigning Wimbledon champion Katrina Adams and her team came as a team to Wimbledon.

They came as a team to Wimbledon and a team they would continue to come back as a team.

Their support as a team has always been constant and their support as individuals has always been equal, just as it will always be.

Katrina Adams is back in the top 10

Adams is back in the top 10 at the Grand Slam – and on her way to a third consecutive Wimbledon title.

The 23-year-old defeated Laura Robson in straight sets on Saturday to take home the Wimbledon singles title.

Adams beat five-time champion and world number 1 Simona Halep in straight sets on day one at the All England Club, meaning in her three Grand Slam singles titles to date she has finished the season inside the top ten.

In 2018, she reached the Wimbledon final, winning it against Venus Williams, and made the semi-finals at the US Open, where she reached the 2017 final and was beaten by Serena Williams.

She has also represented Great Britain at the Davis Cup, winning a gold medal with Team GB at the Davis Cup 2015 in Stuttgart, Germany. Adams also made her professional debut in 2014 as a 16-year-old in the World Tour event in the Bahamas.

“It’s been a very proud day for me. The team had a massive role to play. They don’t just come out and support me – they really came out to support the team because they want us to win more titles, and they want to win as many titles as possible. That’s the only way we can help each other, to help them,” Adams said.

“They really came out to support us, and I was very happy to have their support. I think that makes you feel proud to be in a team. You feel like you’re not alone out on the court.”

Adams told BBC Sport: “It’s the ultimate team, I know that every single one of us is there to come to the best of our ability to help each other
