Rachel Tiven isn’t just a stripper from a small West Virginia town, she is also an artist who has performed her signature cabaret show at major national music festivals, including the prestigious CMJ Music Marathon.

But Tiven’s show at the Liberty High School gym in Liberty, W.Va., was met with a surprising wave of criticism after the footage of a nude Tiven in a leopard bra and fishnet stockings was uploaded to YouTube on July 11.

The YouTube video, posted by a student, has been viewed more than three million times. Many viewers said at first that Tiven’s sex act was of no consequence, but after a growing backlash and a backlash on Twitter, the school’s administration said it made a mistake when it posted the video on YouTube.

“We deeply regret posting this video on YouTube and have apologized to the Liberty High School for its appearance,” Liberty High School Principal Ryan Taylor told NBC News. “We do not condone or condone the actions and actions of Miss Tiven that are discussed in the video.”
