‘Great Woke Way’ takes aim at Trump, but China gets in the way
“The “Great Woke Way” has long been a New York City tourist slogan, but it now has a new target: President Donald Trump.
Over the weekend, The New York Times ran an opinion piece on a new website called Great Woke Way, that is aimed at dispelling the myth that the president is the leader of a new anti-globalist movement in the U.S.
And on Monday, when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the U.S., Fox News and other outlets noted that the Chinese leader was receiving a warm reception from the media and from the U.S. president.
The visit was a good time to test out the site by posting some of their most popular posts.
Their response to the president’s tweets is a good example of the site’s purpose.
“He’s the new anti-globalist, and he’s not anti-foreign,” wrote Great Woke Way founder, David Segal. “He’s anti-globalism, which is a big part of why the media have been so hostile to him for so long.”
And then he added:
“Maybe it’s time for the Times to rethink its coverage – maybe it’s time for the Times to stop being a mouthpiece for white nationalists in the U.S. and the West.”
Great Woke Way’s mission is to “raise awareness that Donald Trump is not just president of the United States, he is also the leader of a global movement to destroy globalism and the way of life that the Chinese government protects.”
The goal is to “stop the New World Order from gaining more power and wealth,” and to “tell the world that Trump is not anti-foreign.”
