In Illinois midterms it’s Republicans vs. the Chicago Democratic machine and media/politics is all over the place this year.
There’s a Chicago Tribune article this morning on the “Republican Party Platform of 2018” or so the title reads. One of the things in the description is “Our country and our children are in dire need of a leader who is concerned with the well-being of all Americans” and “This is our message to Democrats: If you want a country to thrive, we need a leader committed to fighting for it.” The article goes on to explain some of the platforms they will be working for in the future.
There’s another Chicago Tribune article today on the “2018 Chicago Democratic mayoral race” or so it says, and in it we learn how the candidates are going to use the same tired and predictable Democrat talking points in order to “win” this election by “stealing” votes from a Republican who “hated the party.”
I am a conservative and I am proud of it but I know the media and Democrats would prefer the Democrats use this talking point or something like it in their upcoming election, because they know that it makes them look good.
If it makes them look good, when you think about it, it’s basically the same thing the Left had to do in order to make things look good following the 1994 midterm election, when they actually won the House, but lost the Senate. They had to use the same tired old Democratic talking point that they have been using for years, a lie they have had on their books for decades, and they knew that it would make them look good and help them move the ball forward in pushing their Democrat agenda for one or another piece of legislation that they don’t like, but which they know the voters will support.
That is why it was such a shock how the Democrat machine handled the fact that Donald Trump had a real shot at winning in 2016. They knew they could count on the Left to attack him day after day as if he were under attack from the Left, and they knew that they could count on the Left to create an issue out of nothing, something they could use as an issue to try to make it seem like Trump hadn’t made the progress they had hoped he had made.
If they could have gotten away with it, they tried that again in 2018. They know that they can count on the Left to attack
